How I can help
"Attention is the most basic form of love. Through it, we bless and are blessed." —John Tarrant
As your therapist, I will offer you a compassionate space where you can feel heard and supported.
As a result you will gain:
increased self-acceptance
ability to form healthy relationships
understanding of your feelings and motivations
support in processing difficult feelings
increased confidence
a sense of inner freedom to make better choices
peace of mind
a deeper understanding of your inner parts and patterns of behaviour
Our sessions
We will meet at the same time every week, either in person or online.
My fee is £60 per 50 minute session.
Before we start working together
We will start with a 15-20 minute phone conversation to make sure I am the right therapist for you. I will ask you what brings you to therapy, as well as your hopes. I will also tell you about how I work and how I can help you, if that is the case. There will also be space for you to ask me any questions if you have any. There won’t be any pressure for you to decide on the spot whether you want to work with me or not. I believe it’s very important that you work with a therapist that you feel comfortable with and I encourage you to speak to a few practitioners before you decide.
First sessions and ongoing work
Our first session will expand on what we talked about during our initial phone call. I will invite you to share a bit more about yourself and about your therapy goals. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions about myself and about the therapy process.
Assuming we continue to work together, I suggest we have a further 5 sessions, after which we can review our work so far and decide whether you would like to continue together in an open-ended arrangement or for a specific number of sessions. You may, of course, also decide at this point to bring our sessions to a close.
Cancellations
I request 48 hours notice if you need to cancel a session, otherwise the full cost of the session will be charged. There are exceptions to this, such as emergencies.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is very important to me and anything we discuss will stay between us.
If there is a risk of you harming yourself or someone else, I will have to disclose to your GP or external agencies, however I will discuss this with you first.
Any records I may hold about you will be kept in a secure document that can’t be traced back to you.
Work with me
It’s important that the person you work with feels right to you so I offer a free 15-minute call so you can decide if I’m the right therapist for you.
