Hi, I’m Geanina

I am a qualified counsellor, member of the BACP. My main training is in Psychosynthesis which is a psychology of hope that looks not only at our shadow, that is what we struggle with in ourselves, but also towards our potential. It believes that in order to heal we need to bring awareness not only to our wounds from the past, but also to what calls us forward in life — our desire for meaning. It also sees our struggles as stepping stones that we can use to build upon and grow beyond what we thought was possible.

What brought me to this work is my own search for meaning as well as my desire to be a healing presence for people in suffering. Also I know how powerful therapy can be having benefitted from it myself. My clients tell me they appreciate my calm and gentle presence as well as my insightful questions. 

My background is in broadcasting and translation. I also have experience working as a career coach having trained in this area.

I currently live in London and I am fluent in both English and Romanian.

 
 

How I work

In our sessions, I will offer you a safe and non-judgemental space to talk about whatever you’re facing in life at the moment. Together we will explore your thoughts and your feelings and look for ways to manage them. As your therapist I also aim to help you know yourself at a deeper level - that is, understand how your history, your inner parts play a part in your current behaviours and inner conflicts. With increased awareness, shifts will begin to happen within you that will have a positive impact on your life outside of therapy. Some of the outcomes from therapy can be: increased clarity, self-acceptance and overall get a better sense of who you are as a person and acting in accordance to that.

Psychosynthesis is an integrative approach and has much in common with Jungian psychology, Gestalt, humanistic and existential approaches. However, our sessions will be tailored to your needs and may include guided meditations and imagery, creative work such as drawing, as well as explorations of dreams and mindfulness.
